If you need the B172 engine parts for a engine swap I do have them. There are more things than what you have on your list that are needed but the sump, engine mount brackets and bellhousing are the main critical components.

When you say the beam accross the front do you mean the one the anti roll bar fits to? If so there are 3 versions. Early 1.4, late 1.4/1.7 and 360
The main suspension beam that the wishbones bolt to are all the same

The speedo there are two main types on the 340 and 360. Smiths clocks have square light on the fuel and temp warnings, the later VDO lights are round. There a few types of speedo for the early 343's and would be best to include a photo of the type you need. The cable needs to match the speedo as the fittings are not the same.

Door handles is it front or rear ones you need or both?

Not sure about belt.

It is a very common problem for the plastic ring to snap in this way.
I'm sure you will find but if you are stuggling I do have some over here that can be posted.

The torques rods are 1 type for all 1.4's and the 1.7 and 360 use the version with two size bushes

I have seen this a few times on not just on 300's. You can replace the hose with 10mm ID vacuum pipe. Rubber parts only have around a 10 year life and all our cars are well past that

Looks nice and a very clean car.
Interesting with the Sierra springs, I had already had information on 240 rear springs fitting and I am also told MX5 springs can also be used

What does supprise is even in the UK so many are willing to pay more for wrong springs that they have to cut to get working, I really could do with a stockist in Sweden so that you guys can get bits without spending too much on delivery

Yes it should fit, easy way is to change the full sterring column with the lock

I have been asked for a number of years now to make the gearbox mounts for the 360. Well time has come and they reached the top of my project list and with a bit of thinking and testing a few ideas I have come up with sothing that works. As the original mounts were made from a very soft rubber I have used the very softest PU I could for these so as not to transmit vibration. For race cars where vibration does not matter I could on request make them in a slightly harder material

these are built to last using stainless steel plates and tubes and the poly that does not degrade like rubber does.

There is a strong chance I will be sending my dad on a trip to Tierp Sweden to collect a car.

If this goes ahead I will be able to offer free delivery to anyone wanting parts in the area. He will not be able to drive all around dropping door to door but can meet up in a couple of location on route to collecting the car.

It would be a good way to get some larger items over or even save on deposit and return costs of coilovers etc. It does not have to be 300 series parts but anything off my site http://www.classicswede.co.uk/

If there is enough interest then it will happen.

I keep the spring cups in stock and have fitted a lot of them.

The best way to do it is to strip the case down and grind off the old seat. I have a tight fitting split alloy tube that I grease up and insert into the casing. This stops the weld from blowing through when you weld the cup on. I weld both sides up rather than just the bottom side like original

It is very common in the UK also but the only way that you can do it at the moment is to bodge a rack from another car on.

I'm sure these racks kits will sell but I need at least a few firm orders before I can invest more money into the project. At the moment I only have 1 confirmed order for a LHD kit and 1 for a RHD kit.

The most common blocks I sell are 75mm but I know of a few cars using 100mm blocks.
With the 360 you need to move the handbrake cable from below the leaf spring to above the leaf spring.
From the factory the GLT and some GLE's were 20mm lower than the other models.

It is also common for a lot of cars springs to have sagged over time and I have see massive variation in the ride height of cars with original suspension.

I am also aware of a lot of cars lowered a lot on the rear damaging the lower mount of the damper / shock. It would be worthwhile welding on a guard to protect it

To make the spring stiffer it needs to be mounted below the original one. It should also have brackets on each end to hold the part spring(s) inline with the main spring.

Putting the extra spring above the original spring should not make any difference to stiffness of the rear spring.

Getting the right amount of increased stiffness is not easy with this method and I prefer this option but it is much more expensive than fitting used parts.

Fick detta av Dai, inte kollat upp något men postar det här för det kan ju stämma:

"The 360 bars upto chassis 12999 are 23mm. very early 340's are 21mm (different shape) and then changed to 19mm with some odd models being 20mm"

Yes the whiteline bars are NLA and I did ask about reproduction but they were not interested. I did have some 25mm bars made but these have now all sold. Most of these were sent to Holland

This is only for manual steering cars. There is no place for power steering on a race car  :P

Price has worked out a fair bit more than expected at £300 per kit

I will give it another month or so before knocking the idea on the head. In the UK higher geared steering is very common for competition cars. I assume these are not already available?

I assume you are referring to the CVT drive belts. They are still available from the dealer and I also keep genuine belts in stock.

The tie rod ends for the power steering racks are no longer available and have not been for some time now. I have a rack here that use to try and find some tie rods that can be made to fit with only slight modification or even ideally something that will work as is. If not I will need to try and find a company that can re make them in small numbers.

This problem has been around for a while, has anyone here found a solution?

Not such good news, I have had the pricing back and its a lot more than expected as the bearing needs to be changed for a bigger one and when the give me a rough estimate had not allowed for making the T flange  :(

I will discuss things further with them and get a 100% accurate price

Those bolts should be ok but I would suggest you fit serrated washers with to help them lock, might also be a good idea to use thread locking compound on the threads.

Is there any interest in a higher geared rack and pinion to fit into the original 300 series rack? The gearing would reduce the number of turns of the steering wheel to 2.5 turns lock to lock.

 These kits will be ideal for track cars especially drifting or autotest and rally cars

 Price is £300+ delivery (Buyers in Sweden could have all the kits sent to a single address to save on shipping)

 The kit does need to be assembled into your existing steering rack as I do not have any LHD cores to offer an exchange on

I would ideally need at least 10 confirmed orders to get these produced. If there was a lot of interest to make a bigger production run then the price might come down a little bit.

I would think that the drawing must have been read wrong for the threads to be tapped M12x1.5. Volvo use M12x1.25 bolts in other places . Looking at the photos Kurre posted the pitch is clearly fine pitch and looks to be 1.25 but very hard to be 100% from a photo as it could be 1.5 pitch but I doubt it. The M12x1.5 should be strong enough for the job. You should be able to buy new bolts but make sure they are high tensile 12.9 type.

I'm very tempted by one of these myself but not sure what way I will go as yet, when the time comes I may build a totally new transmission.

I like the booted 360, you don't see many of them as most are just the hatch model.

I hope you manage to make the diff fit, not sure why things might have been changed with them.

I will soon be adding front coilovers to my selection of available parts. They will be available in both standard length for road and rally applications and a short version for lowering and track or drift use.

I am working on these right now and will be ready in a couple of weeks time. The rears have been available for a while now to sure the problem of sort rear springs.
