Ämne: Model of the rear axle

What is the model of the rear axle used in 300-series and who is the manufacturer. In 200-series it is Dana 30 or 31 but what axle does 300-series have?

It is called "De dion".. De dion is france.. what it means? I dont know..

who made it? I dont know that either.. maybe "de dion" is a trademark..

Can anyone else fill in the rest?

Heres a link (in Swedish though and it´s about an alfa),that explains what a DeDion axle is.I suppose it´s ALMOST the same as Volvo 340/360.

I tried to translate the text.I hope you understand it anyway,i´m not that good at english.Some of the translations are directly from a dictonary so they might sound a bit odd,hope you´ll overlook that.

This rear axle construction is named after the inventor,the french earl DeDion.
The axle works like a regular stiff rear axle.A strong,light steelpipe (Half-shafts??) connects the wheels to each other.The differential is mounted to the frame and the driveshafts has propellershaft knods?? in both ends.This eliminates the weakness of a regular stiff rearaxle,the differential is not carried on the axle and is not part of the unsprung weight.This results in a car with very good handling that can be pushed to the limits and beyond at the racetrack.

Yeah that cleared out some things. Thanks. Does anyone know who is the manufacturer of the differential. Like the differential in 200-series is made by Dana etc... I was wondering who is the manufacturer of the diff in 300-series.

We think it is "HOR Technologies"

but that is more or less a guess, why? Read this: 360 LSD written by JTbo from Finland that owns that LSD diff! Maybe it is another manufacturer for the stock differential?!
