Clutch b230 turbo
« skrivet: januari 24, 2014, 19:52:49 »
Hi guys,

Let me excuse for my english, but its way better than my swedish  ;) obvious I could do a search, but this wont work out on the 300 power forum. But I'm convinced you guys will help me out here.

What clutch setup do most people use for turbo 360 setup?

Pressure plate?
Friction plate?

Cheers

Anyone can name a clutch that is often used with a turbo'd 360?

Do you hade the deep flywheel? (we here in Sweden often refer to it as "pottsvänghjul")

If you have the deep flywheel then they often use:
Volvo 740 turbo pressure plate (Sachs 3082 204 033)
and
Opel Calibra 228mm clutch disc (or VW 228mm sinter with 20,6x24 splines)

If you have the flat flywhell then they often use:
Saab 900 turbo 215mm pressure plate (Sachs 3082 100 142)
and
Original clutch disk (or VW 215mm sinter with 20,6x24 splines)

Thanks for the info!

I have the pottsvänghjul ;) from a 1992 940 turbo with 60-2 trigger pattern.

If you have the pressure plate from the 940 you can use that one, i believe it is equally strong or maybe even the same as the 740 turbo pressure plate :)

B230FT or FK? Or maybe it is a B200?

Yes, I'll use the 940 turbo pressure plate. Originally its a b200ft. But I'll use a B230FB block

That sounds like a good plan :) More displacement = more power ;D

Then you can use a 228mm clutch disc. One that has the right number of splines for the 360 transaxle.  :)

I just came here to ask this very question  :o

Would it be worth using the Turbo diesel pressure plate? I was under the impression that it has more pressure than the petrol one

Never heard of the diesel-plate being discussed. Interesting!

Does it fit the B19/200 flywheel?

If not I would say it is not worth it, there is several pressure plates that are bolt-on. The strongest one i know about are the -763 for the deep flywheel and the -766 for the flat flywheel.

The -763 is good for 440Nm with 228mm organic clutch disc and the -766 is good for 390Nm with 215mm organic clutch disc.
